About Wootten Deer Park

Suitable For

Ideal for couples, friends and families looking for the ultimate glamping experience.

Nearby

We are only 20 minutes from the A30 and Dartmoor. West Devon is such a lovely place to stay, having the fabulous beaches at Bude just under an hour away with a really great surf school and a little further are other north Cornwall beaches and not to forget Newquay. The Eden Project is also just over an hour away for the perfect day trip. Dingles fairground is brilliant (our kids love the vintage rides) only 40 minutes away.

We are lucky enough to be in an area where the walks immediately around us are wonderful. We have a brewery within walking distance (1.7 miles), where you can take a tour and stock up on some lovely local ales.

Being so close to Dartmoor, you can find some great 'wild swimming' spots, enjoy picnics with the famous 'Dartmoor ponies', trek on horseback across Dartmoor, visit Castle Drogo, Stone Lane Gardens, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, visit the lovely picturesque towns of Chagford, Moretonhampstead and Ashburton - a really great shopping experience with lovely boutique shops, if you're craving some retail therapy.

Take high tea at Paschoe House or enjoying a fine dining evening meal, a fabulous cream tea at 'Mill End' Chagford, or sample some lovely local wines 'wine tasting' only 20 minutes away.

There really is an abundance of lovely things to do! Or, you can keep it simple and kick back and relax in your hammock ..... or enjoy everything that's on offer. So if you’re celebrating a special birthday, an anniversary, looking for just a few nights away, a long weekend or a week’s holiday, either way you’ll create lifelong memories.

Food & Drink

We have lovely local pubs to enjoy. Within walking distance (1.25 miles) is The Waie Inn. This is perfect if you have little ones, as they have a soft play area (named The Waie to Play). There is also an outdoor playground, swimming pool, tennis courts and squash courts a short 10 minutes drive away.
The New Inn at Sampford Courtenay is a 10 minute drive, and there are also the lovely pubs The Kings Arms, The Royal Oak and Paschoe House for some fine dining.
If you don't mind driving a little further, you will find many fabulous places to eat, for example The Cleave Inn in Lustleigh, Dartmoor, The Bearslake Inn & The Castle Inn at Lydford. For stocking up locally, we have a great Co-op in the Village of Bow (1.34 miles away), which should have everything you need for your glamping stay. There is also 'Blueberry Hill market garden' for organic goods.
